First Dance Lyrics

So for the past year I have been all about DIY projects and fun things around the house to capture all the great memories from our wedding and the girls. I have looked and found about 1,000 projects I would love to do if I had about $1,000. This one I found though I fell in love with and knew I had to do it and it would be cheap to create. I wanted to do something with our first dance lyrics from our wedding.

I got on Pinterest and started to browse and found this one that I loved and wanted to recreate. It was a pictures frame and inside was a picture from the first dance and then surrounding it was a mat for a regular picture but then on the mat were the lyrics to the first dance song. The lyrics on the mat were typed or scripted out, probably done professionally but I thought what the heck I can just write it out myself and it would have that much more meaning.

I went to the store and found a mat, which actually came in a pack of 2 so I used one for myself and then as a Christmas present last year I made my sister one as well. I already had an extra frame lying around and a sharpie which is what I used to write the lyrics, so all I needed to get was a picture from our first dance. I had Matt draw lines on the mat so I would have something to follow and guide me as I was writing the lyrics out and then once everything was dry I just erased the lines he drew.

After that was done I got the picture and put everything in the frame. I love the way it turned out and that we have another little piece of our wedding with us each day!
